About Leeds Beckett University

Leeds Beckett traces its history to the Leeds Mechanics Institute of 1824. It became Leeds Polytechnic in 1970 and a university in 1992, and took the name Leeds Beckett in 2014, after Beckett Park, where its Headingley Campus sits.

Around 22,000 students study here, roughly one in five of them from outside the UK.

City Campus

City Campus is in the centre of Leeds. The Rose Bowl is home to Leeds Business School. Close by is Broadcasting Place, the rust-red tower named best tall building in the world by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat in 2010.

The Leeds School of Arts building brings film, music, performing arts and creative technology under one roof.

Headingley Campus.

Headingley Campus is set in 100 acres of parkland at Beckett Park, north of the centre. It's home to the Carnegie School of Sport, whose building has an indoor sprint track on the roof. If you're studying sport, expect to spend most of your week here.

Getting there from Domo Leeds

Domo Leeds is on St Cecilia Street in SOYO, in the city centre. City Campus is a 17-minute walk across the centre, or 6 minutes by bike. Victoria Gate is on the way, 7 minutes from your front door.

For Headingley Campus, buses run north from the city centre throughout the day.

Living at Domo Leeds.

Domo Leeds opens for the 2027/28 academic year with 291 rooms: studios, and en-suite rooms in shared apartments of three, five or seven. One rent covers heating, electricity, water, superfast Wi- Fi and contents insurance.

For project work there's a workshop with a drafting table, plus a co-working area and a lounge. There's also a gym, a fitness studio, TV rooms, a games area and a terrace. An on-site team is there when you need them.

Your rent covers all utility bills (water, electricity, and heating), superfast Wi-Fi, weekly laundry credits, 24/7 staffing, access to all communal amenities and social spaces, regular housekeeping of communal areas, and an on-site maintenance team. Please note that your TV licence is not included.

What types of accommodation are available?

Domo Leeds offers two types of accommodation. Studios are self-contained rooms with their own kitchen, bathroom, desk, wardrobe, and storage — everything you need in one private space. Ensuite rooms sit within 3-5-7-bed shared apartments, where you'll have your own bedroom and bathroom, and share a kitchen with a small number of flatmates. All rooms are single occupancy unless you choose a dual occupancy studio.

Who can book with Domo Student?

Our accommodation is available to students in full-time higher education. You'll need to be — or confirm that you will be — enrolled at a university or higher education institution. You also need to be at least 18 years old at the time of booking. If you're under 18, a parent or legal guardian should get in touch with us before a booking is made.
